This month, we saw the famous slip of Facebook in the ‘Top 10’ on the App Store, as well as advertisers struggling with short video content. In better news, the Women’s England team brought it home and we got insight on how our content can best perform, whether that’s Reels or using the perfect hashtags.

  1. Facebook struggling to stay in top 10 of apps - The big giant, Facebook, is struggling to maintain its position in the App Store as younger consumers shift to newer social networking experiences like TikTok and BeReal. 2. Advertisers Are Struggling with Instagram’s TikTok Clone, Reels - Whilst Meta begins to ease advertisers into the realm of Reels, alongside short videos for Facebook - the difficulty is lying on how to turn the attention into advertising revenue? Content creators must be more captivating as users are spending 30% more time on Reels than last quarter, but until advertising spending follows, the shift is hurting Meta’s business in the short term, by cannibalising attention from features where the company makes a more predictable stream of revenue. Some might say that’s Karma for copying TikTok…

What are your thoughts, hashtags for the win or the bin?

  3. Meta’s guide on improving reel performance - Although Instagram is prioritising reels and video content, that doesn’t mean you can just sit back and relax! Top tips suggest you should focus on trending but relevant sounds and treat hashtags like they’re your best friends (involve them in everything)!! Have a read to be a boss of the reel game.

  1.  The price of a pint in London is surging towards £14 - Sorry to dampen the mood, but high energy costs, wages and supply chain issues have meant businesses have been forced to pass on costs to customers with the price of everyday purchases soaring.
